A researcher could study the longevity of businesses on with a southern facing entrance vs a northern facing entrance. The building numbers in many cities are odd on one side of the street and even on the other side of the street. Records could be found at the Chamber of Commerce of most cities.
As money is not everything, a survey could be done with one of the many Life Satisfaction surveys available. Southern and northern/eastern facing directions could be compared.
Study businesses on the west coast ot the USA, such as Silicon Valley in California, to see if they have been successful with the beach and sun on the "wrong" side.
