Before & After "Swamp-atya Veda"

Maharishi University of Management

Before Sthapatya Veda                         After

The beautiful lake with fountain seen in the 1995 MIU videos was filled in with dirt in 1997-8, creating an unusable, soggy, field of mud. Untold thousands of fish, birds, ducks, and animals were killed or pushed out of their homes in the name of Natural Law.

It cost thousands of dollars to fill in the lake. Steam shovels worked for months to fill it in with truckloads of dirt purchased and brought from off campus. This was money that could have been used for campus improvements, library books, upgrading the computer lab, or bringing staff and faculty salaries up to standard.

It was believed that filling in the "inauspicious" lake would result in increased student enrollment and success for the University.

A year later, MUM is still experiencing financial difficulty, decreased enrollment, and has not won any awards for campus beauty.

Every heavy rainfall brings a pond which lasts for days to remind us who knows best how to organize.
